By invoking the Lord of Lapis Lazuli Light (Medicine Buddha), one can heal both physical and mental ailments. In the Medicine Buddha mantra, the words "Bekandze" and "Maha Bekandze" mean "eliminating pain" and "great elimination of pain."
It turns out that the first Bekandze eliminates diseases, aging, and any other suffering, while the second one eliminates the very causes of this suffering and purifies karma.
